About Monroe Arts
The Monroe Arts Council is a non-profit founded in 1997 by local musicians and teachers Paul Ring and Suzanne Pollock with the mission to “cultivate unity through creative expression.” Read more
The Council now has a number of groups under its nonprofit including The Monroe Theatre, Monroe Artists & the Creative Expressions Gift Shop, Buchanan Chapel, Monroe Singers, Monroe Players, Monroe Band and WriteAway! (a Writers Guild), as well as Monroe Tourism – which serves as the county’s Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The Monroe Arts Council continues to promote and develop the talents and heritage of local residents, while at the same time broadening exposure to art experiences through a variety of opportunities offered to students and local residents.
